Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

For the week beginning 25th August

NEW MOON at 7 degrees 48minutes Virgo on 31st August at 5:58 am AEST

VIRGO

The Sun’s movement into your solar first house for approximately the next month is indicative of the time of year for a personal tune-up. With your own batteries recharged the pace and tone can be set for the year ahead. It’s all about me.

LIBRA

It’s evaluation time so those scales may be out of balance this week. Change is afoot as you are no longer satisfied with accepting things at face value. It is important to keep an open mind, considering all options.

SCORPIO

It would be very easy for group/boardroom discussions to get out of hand this week creating friction and ill feeling that may linger. Keep this in mind if you are trying to coerce others to your point of view. Listen

SAGITTARIUS

With the Sun’s movement into your solar tenth house of career for the next four weeks or so don’t be surprised if you are brought into the spotlight or given more responsibility than you have had previously. Know your capabilities.

CAPRICORN

Not necessarily known for your adventurous spirit but if you feel the urge to seek out and unearth new experiences in life grasp it with both hands and see what the universe has to offer. Discover there is more.

AQUARIUS

There is a lot on your mind lately so perhaps the best thing to do is go off on your own and think things over so as you can arrive at the clearest idea of what you want to do.
Gaining clarity of intention.

PISCES

When you are full of self- doubt it becomes very easy to avoid your responsibilities, slipping into those escapist tendencies that impede real fulfillment by subverting productive effort. Avoid ambivalence.

ARIES

If you are finding it hard to get along with others at the moment the problem may lie in your own aggressiveness and competitiveness. Then again others may be trying to goad you into a response. The challenge is to know the difference.

TAURUS

Remember this week that you always have the choice of walking away from a situation; you are not forced to be with anyone. Use the voice of reason and try not to follow the voice of your unconscious mind. Know the why of what you are doing.

GEMINI

Care needs to be taken this week in how you talk to people, because they may feel that you are trying to push them into an opinion or point of view that they do not agree with.
Hostility from others is indicative of this.

CANCER

A restlessness seems to take over or is it that you just seem to perfect the idea of multi tasking. You are here, there and everywhere and whilst not a lot of time is spent on any one task, things get done.

LEO

With the Sun moving into your solar second house you may find yourself becoming concerned with the value of what you receive, seek or earn in life. Your personal comforts come under scrutiny not only how to obtain but also how to enjoy them.

NEW MOON at 7 degrees 48minutes Virgo on 31st August at 5:58 am AEST

A New Moon is a time that promotes all forms of growth. It is a fruitful time for starting material ventures and also a potent time for making wishes that stimulate new beginnings in our lives. Within the first eight hours is the most potent time however up to forty-eight hours after the exact time is still OK. The hours or days leading up to a New Moon is known as the Balsamic Phase and is not a fertile time for new beginnings. Spend some time this Sunday thinking or writing about those dreams and then take the steps to see them come true.

We see with this New Moon a movement from the self-expressive and creative fire of Leo to the more earthy, analytical and organised sign of Virgo. In Leo we become aware of the freedom that results from following the laws of our inner being whilst from Virgo we learn to apply ourselves with practical application enabling us to fulfill our highest ideals.

The mental keenness and discrimination of this Full Moon is enhanced by the conjunction of Saturn also in Virgo, adding an awareness of limits and also the capacity to function effectively in areas of personal health and career. Saturn is about realism and likes tangible results and when we combine this with the trine to Jupiter, planet of opportunity, growth and expansion, any resistance to change is lessened.  Jupiter’s placement in Capricorn helps us become conscious of our goals and what we want to aspire to. All this tells us that with a vision and perseverance anything is possible.

Sabian Symbol for 8 degrees Virgo
“A five year old child takes a first dancing lesson”.
