Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

For the week beginning 7 July

The Astrological Moon

CANCER

There are a lot of disruptions at the start of the week which makes you feel unsettled and out of sorts. Nervousness may keep you from saying what you really want to say but after Friday this should clear.

LEO

Don’t let a difference of opinion with a colleague get out of hand. Work any tension off at the gym, as it is important not only for your physical well being, but also for your mental health.

VIRGO

The planets have aligned for you this week giving you an increased ability in overcoming any negative or obsessive thinking whilst giving the personal strength and ability to move on.

LIBRA

With Neptune obscuring Venus, the Goddess of Love the need for reassurance may be strong and no matter your relationship experiences this week may see you feeling rejected and full of self -doubt.

SCORPIO

You may find the needs of the team or group is hampering your style at the moment but perhaps the self-restraint required is exactly what is needed to accomplish this particular objective.

SAGITTARIUS

Optimism is high at the moment so too perhaps the impulse for extravagant spending. Perhaps it is not you but your partner who is tempted by the many sales at the moment. Don’t over extend yourself.

CAPRICORN

One minute you do, next minute you don’t. Activities seem to have a stop and go quality to them at the moment. Any delays you have been experiencing should disappear by the start of next week. Prepare.

AQUARIUS

Your relationship with co-workers is great this week as you gain their respect and appreciation not only for your insight but also for your ability to bring clarity to an existing problem.

PISCES

You feel burdened by obligations and this is to be expected if you are not clear about what you say and want. Your indecision is causing you to give out mixed messages so clarify what it is you want and need.

ARIES

Although you have the will finding the way seems to be eluding you. It will be much easier to establish a routine next week meanwhile do all the preparation and organise yourself ready to start.

TAURUS

Relationships with relatives or neighbours come under the microscope and the situation is not very clear at all. The complete truth is not coming out and until it does you will continue to feel confused.

GEMINI

Pluto, God of the Underworld is colluding with your ruler this week so don’t be surprised if you find yourself involved in some sort of power struggle that has nothing open and honest about it.

The Astrological Moon

The perpetually changing yet constant lunar cycle has gathered to itself a characteristic body of myth, which most of us are familiar with. The waxing and waning cycle of the moon is ultimately a symbol of all earthly life. Lunar calendars are older than solar calendars for in ancient days time was reckoned by the moon.

Some of us are more attuned to viewing life through a lunar lens so therefore safety and security and the warmth of human contact become much more important than any abstract quest for meaning.

If the Sun unfolds as we mature the Moon is there from the beginning and gives indications of how our early experiences have coloured our emotional outlook. In the first few weeks of life there is nothing but sensation and body needs. We are hungry, need sleep, to be held and touched. If these basic instinctual needs are met we are happy and content, the world is a secure place.

If we are out of touch with our Moon or feelings and therefore do not know what our needs are it becomes hard to feel secure and safe. In our busy lives we tend to override feelings in order to get things done but are we suppressing an important part of our being? We all need to satisfy or develop the capacity to satisfy and meet our own needs otherwise it is very difficult to gain emotional satisfaction or to support others.

Astrologically the Moon is said to rule the yin principle, the unconscious, mother, our ancestral roots, our emotional outlook and conditioning. The Moon shows the kind of attitudes that were instilled in us by our family and indicates how we were mothered and nurtured and in turn our own nurturing style.
